Pumpkin Biscuits

1 can Pumpkin
1 1/4 Cups Buttermilk
2 1/2 Cups Unbleached Flour
1 Cup Cake Flour
5 Teaspoons Baking Powder
4 Teaspoons Sugar
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
2/3 Cup Margarine, cut in small pieces
1/4 Cup Sweet Cream Butter, cut into small pieces


1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2. Mix Pumpkin and Buttermilk together until smooth.
3. Sift all powdered ingredients together. Cut in Butter and margarine until all ingredients come together and are pea sized balls.
4. Add Pumpkin mixture to Flour mixture. Knead dough together on a well floured surface 8 - 10 times. Roll out until about 1 inch thick.
5. Cut biscuits into desired shapes. Bake on top rack 12 - 14 minutes.
